Teshmont was established in 1966 by three Canadian Engineering Companies that pooled their expertise to form a company specifically for the design and construction management of large high voltage transmission systems. The first project, one that we continue to be involved with to this day, was the Nelson River Transmission System, a 3850 MW HVDC link that transmits power from the Nelson River in northern Manitoba to the load centers in Winnipeg, some 900 km away.
Over the years, Teshmont has been active in both HVDC
and EHV AC transmission system study, specification, design and
commissioning. These systems have ranged in voltages up to 765 kV
AC and +/-600 kV DC. We have provided services to clients in over
20 countries and have worked on some of the world's largest high
voltage transmission systems, including the Itaipu transmission
system in Brazil and the massive Three Gorges development in China.
It is this vast experience that makes Teshmont a true world leader
in high voltage power transmission engineering.
Today, from our offices in Winnipeg, Canada, we continue to provide quality services to the world of electrical power transmission.
